I’m Alex Knepper. I’m a 23-year-old gay, atheist Republican in love with politics, philosophy, and pop culture.
I am well-educated on a number of topics, from philosophy to psychology, from music to sexuality, but my first love is politics. I am a 21st-century Republican, standing for the free market, social tolerance, and global American leadership. I promote a new wave of conservatism that centers on individual liberty accompanied by individual responsibility. I enjoy taking a contrarian posture and am usually willing to say what others won’t. Thinkers who have influenced me include Edmund Burke, Camille Paglia, Friedrich Nietzsche, Ayn Rand, and Thomas Szasz.
I currently write for the Huffington Post and Race42016.com. I also am an executive board member of the Republican Reason Caucus, for which I also blog. I have contributed to a number of political websites, including LibertyNews.com and FrumForum.com, and have been featured by a number of national outlets, including the New York Times and NPR.
I am currently studying at the Graduate Institute at St. John’s College – Annapolis. hold a B.A. in Political Science from American University.
I am currently working on a book about education theory.
